Kinesiology is the scientific study of human movement, performance and function, and applies the sciences of anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, and motor learning. We use a series of objective and subjective measurements tools to assure a balance of mobility and stability through fundamental movement patterns. Through screening and assessments, weaknesses, imbalances, asymmetries and limitations become noticeable. It should be a prerequisite to move well before moving often and challenging a body with training.
Many people can perform a wide range of activities, but are unable to efficiently execute basic movements and are using compensatory movement during physical activity. If these compensations continue, poor movement patterns are reinforced, which lead to poor biomechanics. All can be contributing factors in a future injury.
