Shoko is a Registered Massage Therapist with a wealth of experience in treating a wide range of patients of all ages and activity levels. Her interest in exercise science and massage therapy springs from her love of sports, outdoor activities and athletics. She believes in an inter-disciplinary approach to improve function and performance for individuals with acute and chronic conditions, pre and post natal care all the way to high performance athletes. (wide range of athletic population)
Shoko is a graduate of University of British Columbia, completing her bachelor in Human Kinetics in the stream of Exercise Science. She completed her 3000hr Massage Therapy education at the West Coast College of Massage Therapy and is currently studying Manual Osteopathy at the Canadian school of Osteopathy. Amongst her schooling, she has completed many continuing education courses ranging in manual techniques, exercise prescription as well as athletic taping. She is currently in her 4th year of her Osteopathic Manual Practice (DOMP) from the Canadian School of Osteopathy Manual Practice (CSO) in Vancouver.
Shoko has also worked with the Canadian Women’s National Soccer Team from 2010 to 2014 as a member of the medical staff. Her travel with the team includes the 2012 London Olympics where the team won the Bronze medal. She has also worked with the Canadian Kendo Team and the Japanese wheelchair rugby team. Shoko speaks both English and Japanese.
